Paola Tassetti è un'artista marchigiana. Dopo gli studi in ambito artistico si laurea in architettura specializzandosi poi nella ricerca sul paesaggio italiano. Durante i suoi studi a Kyoto e a Londra inizia a lavorare in ambito artistico con installazioni e scultura. In particolare studia la botanica e l'anatomia e le integra nella sua ricerca artistica.
Il suo è un personalissimo universo fatto di collage, dipinti su carta, disegni, serigrafie, elementi tassonomici, sculture, con lo scopo di indagare la propria dimensione più profonda e anche la componente più intimistica che relaziona gli umani al mondo esterno, a ciò che ci circonda, creando quindi un dialogo tra il dentro e il fuori, tra l'interiorità e la realtà. In particolare nelle opere qui esposte l'artista indaga l'ibridazione tra elementi umani, animali e vegetali. Questa ibridazione porta, nella poetica dell'artista, a una "nuova specie", un nuovo modo di stare nel mondo che si basa sulla consapevolezza, sul vedere quelle connessioni che uniscono gli elementi: connessioni energetiche che nelle sue opere l’artista evidenzia con tratteggi colorati che circondano gli elementi della composizione e li connettono tra loro. Questi elementi vengono uniti e ibridati graficamente dall'artista che poi lavora sulla stampa con colori a olio, gessetti, tempere e timbrature. Si possono notare elementi provenienti da antichi manuali di botanica e anatomia, elementi dal gusto orientale, colori e grafiche mutuate dall'estetica anni 60. La figura umana, animale o vegetale che sia, viene stravolta, trasformata, sezionata, per creare una composizione di strutture di diversa natura, costantemente in cerca di luce, di libertà e di armonia al di là dei limiti della materia.

Paola Tassetti is an artist from the Marche region of Italy. After completing her studies in the arts, she earned a degree in Architecture, later specializing in research on the Italian landscape. During her studies in Kyoto and London, she began developing her artistic practice through installation and sculpture. At the same time, she pursued the study of botany and anatomy, integrating both disciplines into her artistic research.

Her work unfolds within a deeply personal universe composed of collages, works on paper, drawings, screen prints, taxonomic elements, and sculptures. Through these diverse media, she explores her innermost dimension as well as the intimate relationship that connects human beings to the external world, to everything that surrounds us, creating a dialogue between the inner and the outer, between interiority and reality.

The works presented here focus in particular on the hybridization of human, animal, and plant forms. Within the artist's poetic vision, this hybridization gives rise to a "new species", a new way of inhabiting the world grounded in awareness and in the ability to perceive the connections that bind all living elements together. These energetic connections are made visible through colored hatch marks that surround the figures within the composition, linking them to one another.

The artist first combines and graphically hybridizes these elements, then intervenes on the printed surface using oil paints, pastels, tempera, and stamped marks. One can recognize motifs drawn from historical botanical and anatomical manuals, references to Eastern aesthetics, and colors and graphic languages inspired by the visual culture of the 1960s. Whether human, animal, or vegetal, the figure is disrupted, transformed, and dissected to create compositions in which structures of different natures coexist, constantly striving toward light, freedom, and harmony beyond the limits of material existence.
